Garlic is getting close and loving this warmer weather, hoping to start picking some soon. Onions won't be far behind that as Spring approaches, and we are prepping more ground for all of our spring plants that will be here in early to mid March. Happy New Year to everyone and also Happy new CSA season! I want to apologize for last week being an off week, I don't remember telling Harvie that I wanted to skip the week after Christmas but apparently I did in December 2021. The cold really did a number on us this go round, lowest temp I saw was 18 degrees but it may have dipped to 17 at one point. While we covered everything we could, 20 degrees and a bit below that, doesn't sit well with most of the plants we are growing at this time. Some will die off from it but ho1 read more »

In the farming industry in South Louisiana, a forecast that looks like this weeks is something you never wanna see, but it is part of farming that we can not control. We will be draining everything, protecting as many of the exposed pipes that we can, covering what plots we can, winterizing all tru1 read more »
