Well we ended up getting some much needed rain last week, it rarely happens but it was actually just enough. We are back dried out now and working dirt so we can get more plastic mulch laid for our summer/fall crops. I will start working on our farm plan in a few weeks and ordering seeds not long after that. We are picking a bunch of yellow creole tomatoes at the moment and they are delicious. I used one yesterday to make some BLT's and they were dynamite! Planting more squash and eggplant this week, hoping to see squash bounce back soon as we have been in a gap for few weeks.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
