Farm Happenings for November 4, 2020

Posted on October 28th, 2020 by Lorien Carsey

It’s the last share delivery for our 2020 summer season! Thank you so much for allowing us to feed you. If you have not already signed up for 2021 we will be opening up sales on Monday. If you have a Farmstand subscription, you don’t have to do anything to renew, you will continue to receive weekly emails.

This week, we harvested lots of fall crops before the freeze on Sunday night. Misato watermelon radishes, Napa cabbage, Hakurei turnips (so sweet and tender this year) and lots of beets.

We laid out row cover in our high tunnels to protect the plants, and spread out row cover outside over the remaining carrots, beets, peppers, turnips, and misato radishes.

We are looking forward to our week vacation from CSA before the fall shares start up. The crew is shrinking every week as we move from outside to inside production and we go to about 1/4 of our summer season.  Again, we want to thank each and every one of you for sharing the bounty of our rich soils and deep sunshine.
