We're Delighted

Posted on May 9th, 2019 by Ford Waterstrat

Hello from Farmer Ford! We are so excited to be bringing you your 1st Farm Shares! We hope that you feel lucky to be one of few people that get to enjoy the regions best Certified Organic products. We are very thankful that you're allowing us to be your farm family for the season. You're not just supporting your health by eating food so close to home- You're supporting a local food system that has a ripple effect in so many needed areas.

Please accept my apologies for being a poor writer, but I'd like to provide a little background on your 1st share.

  • The strawberry plants were planted last fall and were protected and nurtured all winter long and will produce for 5-6 weeks. Strawberries are one of the "dirty dozen" to watch for. Fortunately we raise USDA Certified Organic strawberries and you can plop them in your mouth without a worry of any chemicals!
  • The strawberries are producing well!
  • The lettuce and kale were started in the greenhouse as little seeds the 1st week of February and were planted into the soil in early March. Be expecting several varieties of lettuce in your shares.
  • As the season progresses you will have a larger variety of items to select from each week.
  • We will NOT be allowing Add ons for the 1st couple of weeks to make sure all of our delivery kinks are worked out!
  • Occasionally we do mispack a share-- please let us know ASAP if anything is wrong with your share and take a picture of your share label. Each employee has a custom color that they use to check off shares as they pack.

Blessings, Ford
