Week 6

Posted on June 18th, 2022 by Ford Waterstrat

Gee Whiz- It's been extremely hot. Fortunately I'm blessed with a hard working crew of guys that can handle it. They do tell me that the tempature is hotter and more humid in KY than it is in their area of Mexico.

Unfortunately some of the crops do not handle the hot weather as well as the guys do. As many of you are aware 90+ degree days are not typical for June. The crops that we plant for harvest in June do not handle the 90 degree days very well. Crops that perform well in July and August can handle warmer tempatures ok, but even tomatoes, peppers, eggplant will abort their fruit production when its much above 90.

So what's a farmer to do? We're hoping that the crops we've carefully nurtured for you will produce well. 2021 was a terrific growing season and wow did we have some amazing variety week after week after week. We're hoping for the same this season- Rest assured we're doing everything we can to provide you with great produce each week- You're our top priority!

Sincere thanks

Ford
