Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Posted on July 13th, 2021 by Ron Meyer

We’ve been having too many rainy days recently and not enough sun.  The lettuce and zucchini seem to like it (Ron says our zucchini plants are the biggest we’ve ever had!), but it’s been hard on some of our other crops. Most of our garden soil has a lot of clay in it, so it takes it longer to dry out. Day after day of rain can really swamp garden plants. We’re looking forward to some sunshiny days!

This week the farm stand has a good amount of salad mix, romaine, and kale, along with plenty of blueberries, zucchini and garlic. We also have red beets, green onions, fresh herbs, eggs, ground beef, local honey and strawberry jam. We even have the first few pounds of our green bean crop.
