Mid November is clean up time around the farm. After the frost we move systematically through each field putting everything to bed for the winter. We mowed the asparagus fronds, spread compost on the beds, and then a nice thick layer of straw mulch to keep this crop weed free next season.
We tore out all the pepper plants and took down the plastic on the tunnels so we're ready for snow. We're cleaning out our tool shed, pack barn, and greenhouses, getting these spaces reset after a busy growing season, setting up organization systems, and taking inventory of supplies so we're ready for spring.
