Power of Community

Posted on November 17th, 2020 by Danielle *Allen

Let's celebrate the power of community, even if we can't be together right now. What we know is that we're all connected, and we will find our way forward through relationships and mutual support. Your choice to purchase a season's share of vegetables from Root 5 Farm radiates out into your community in so many ways.

Your commitment to our farm means that the people who grow your food receive fair wages and reliable year-round employment. Your dollars extend even beyond your CSA box, to help those who are experiencing food scarcity. Root 5 Farm is able to donate thousands of pounds of extra vegetables every year through gleaning programs and donations through Willing Hands and NOFA-VT's farm share program. And lastly, your participation as a CSA member enables us to carefully tend this land using real organic practices so this piece of ground can continue to produce healthy food for generations to come.

So thank you, thank you, thank you. We're grateful for your support and that you trust us to grow your food. We're working diligently together towards the future we all need. When all are fed, supported, valued, and seen, and when we work together, we ensure a better food system today and tomorrow.

May your Thanksgiving meal be a celebration of the harvest that illuminates our connection to the seasons and cycles of the earth. We hope the food from our farm offers inspiration for a nutritious and delicious meal.
