Hello everyone!
We have a couple new crops this week: lovely new white potatoes from Silver Birch Farm on West Fraser Rd. These are perfect, thin-skinned potatoes that are small to medium size. Earl of Silver Birch Farm is not certified organic but he uses zero chemical inputs on his farm.
The leeks are also ready! Which will go well with the potatoes, now that some cool weather has set in. I just love having leeks in the freezer to use all winter. I slice them up in my food processor and freeze. Nice alternative to scallions or if you run out of cooking onions. We also have one more round of fennel ready and are expecting garlic any day now!
Lastly, we got a few boxes of lovely Gravenstein apples from Mackin Creek Orchard, on West Fraser Rd.

I am hoping to get another shipment of San Marzano and Heirloom tomatoes from Hope Organics in Prince George, for next week. I will send you a separate email if it's a-go and I'll put them back on the extras list!
