Organic Inspection...CHECK!

Posted on October 1st, 2019 by Robyn Calvey

Hello Members-

Today we had our annual Organic inspection.  All went well and I was reminded of how GREAT we are at keeping records on the farm.  From seed to sale its all recorded...for each and every thing we grow: seed invoice, greenhouse log, fertilizer invoice, input log, direct seed map, transplant map, harvest log, daily work log, Harvie estimate log and eventually it becomes an item in your share!  We are transparent and proud of it.  Our growing systems are improving each and every season and I just want to say thanks to everyone that works at the farm for helping us continue to be an honest farm and for all your record keeping day in and day out!

As a certified organic farmer, I am proud to say that I believe in the National Organic Program and its standards.  We work really hard to make sure that we follow all the rules and guidelines and to be honest, we wouldn't want it any other way.

When my parents started the farm back in 2003 and filled out their first pile of paperwork for organic certification, I don't think they envisioned that 17 seasons later we would still be growing strong.  Cheers to many years of inspections, paperwork and lots of good times!  And to my parents 48th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY today!  I love you mom and dad...thanks for becoming organic farmers so I could follow in your muddy footsteps :)
