Farm Happenings for September 10, 2020

Posted on September 7th, 2020 by Emily Tzeng

Laboring on Labor Day! We are eagerly trying to finish up as much as the field work as possible this week! Hard to believe that we are at daylight levels of late March at this point of the year! The very last field plantings went in last week (lettuce, radishes, arugula) and we are working on ripping out early cucumber and basil plants for winter tunnel planting this week. Hopefully a warm, sunny September will mean we will be able to eat lettuce and salad mix all the way through Christmas. We also will begin our big potato dig and be able to store at least 1000 pounds of potatoes to eat until next spring. The propagation house is nearly empty and will be filled with curing winter squash. Hope everyone has been enjoying the last few weeks of summer and transitioning back to school well.

Also we are in the last few weeks of our flower share, so enjoy them while they are here! Bouquets, bread, and eggs are available a la cart.
