Farm Happenings for June 4, 2020

Posted on May 29th, 2020 by Emily Tzeng

Welcome to Week 1 of our CSA! We can't wait to feed you this year!

Things are really growing this time of year! In general we have had a great spring for growing and some really well timed rains. We spent a lot of time this week tending to all of our tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants and building trellis for all of our cucumbers and pole beans this year.

Lots of tasty greens are available this time of year and we eat a big salad each night. Lots of new crops are on deck for the next few weeks, including peas, napa cabbage, scallions, and garlic scapes! Thanks for joining us for a year of seasonal eating.

As previously mentioned, the farm that was suppose to provide eggs will not be able to. HARVIE will be able to refund any egg shares completely this week. We have a limited amount of eggs from our neighbors at Bright Ice Acres available! These rainbow eggs come from hens on pasture and eat non-gmo feed grown and milled in Washington. You will be able to add them to your share a la cart each week.

We are still working out pick up protocols for our downtown Seattle location at Marketplace Tower. Currently, this building is locked for people who don't work or live there, but I am trying to work things out with the building management. People who don't work or live at Marketplace Tower, please respond to the previous email about your location preferences.

Thanks and have a great week!
