Growings On 9/5/20

Posted on September 5th, 2020 by Kirsten Simmons

In the midst of getting crops in the ground in Austell and getting the strawberry space prepped, I'm also trying to poke some longer term potential growing spaces. Because Austell isn't really enough growing space, maybe 12,000 row feet, and I'd much prefer not to be driving a half hour out there to cultivate.

One of my top prospects is a vacant 8 acre parcel in the industrial space on Moreland Ave between EAV and my strawberry space. It's a completely raw kudzu jungle. But it's enough space for my purposes, and the location is perfect. I spent about an hour tonight researching the owners and trying to draft a letter introducing myself and proposing a long term lease.

The owner has left next to no online trail, so I'm flying blind when it comes to putting together an appealing proposal. So I've tried to include multiple angles, guessing at what type of person he is and what might appeal. The whole thing is a long shot, but the space has enough potential that I figure it's worth the few hours I've spent researching and drafting. Fingers crossed!
