Farm Happenings for June 29-30, 2022

Posted on June 26th, 2022 by Gail and Maurice Smith

Hello to all our Farm Share members.  Greetings to your families and friends. Good health and spirits to all on this fine sunny Sunday with too much wind.  It was once said that we couldn't do anything about our weather. Science is telling us that we are causing many weather issues.  We can help out by buying from our local farmers.  Congratulations!  You are taking some action by the purchase of your farm share boxes and eating locally.  This way your food didn't come from thousands of miles away.

Your next step is to pick the vegetables from the list that you would prefer for this week.  Please do this by 10 am on Monday morning.  if you miss the cut off time the Harvie system will select for you according to your likes and dislikes.  Maurice will be delivering to the Twin Cities area on Wednesdays.  His delivery time may vary some from week to week because of traffic and the number of deliveries for the day.  Eau Claire area will be on Thursdays.  Please return your box to the drop off site each week.

The next item makes us a bit uncomfortable.  We will NOT BE MAKING DELIVERIES JULY 6TH OR 7TH.  Because of staff shortages we just can't get the work done.  July 4th is on Monday this year and the few employees we have made family plans.  They already work beyond expectations, and we just can't ask them to give up this important holiday.  You can reschedule your box or we can add it on at the end of the season.  That way you will still get the same number of boxes you paid for.  On the same theme if you and your family would like to volunteer a day on the farm we would be honored.  There is plenty of camping space, a river for the canoe and fishing.

As always have a great week and you are always welcome at the farm.
