Farm Share Week 5 of 6

Posted on December 5th, 2021 by Gail and Maurice Smith

Happy Sunday to all of you.  Greetings to your families, friends and co-workers.  Enjoy each one for their contributions to your life.

Wreath making has been the main event on the farm this week, along with decorating Greenhouse 3 into a gathering place.  If you need a wide open space for a meeting, gathering or just to get out with a few friends give us a call.  We have green space.  Plants all around.  The tea pot and coffee pot will be on and there are goodies available to eat or gifts to take home.

The wreath above is one designed for Gail's 91 year old mother, Erlene.  Upon asking what kind of wreath, plain or one with bling, she wanted..."a normal one with a red bow and pine cones, maybe put some silver in it and make it showy, something you will notice!" This was the result of her description.  We are delivering the wreath to her today....maybe.  At the moment there is a blizzard going on outside my office window and she lives in Fall Creek, WI which is an hour and half drive from Barron...along with very spotty internet service.

We tried out the fruit that Maurice picked up.  Delicious all around.  The fruit salad was great, the German apple pancake was great, plain apples, pears and kiwi was great and the Rustic Pear Tart was yummy.  If anyone chooses pears, Gail will send on the recipe.  These pears are huge and sweet.

As always take care and have a great week.  You are always welcome to come to the farm.
