Farm Share week 19 of 20

Posted on October 24th, 2021 by Gail and Maurice Smith

Happy Fall Day!  Greetings to all of you, your families and friends.  Enjoy this wonderful season with healthy eating and sharing.  Sharing food in all our diverse cultures we live in makes us closer together.

Above you see the happy face of one of the 60 six grade students from Cumberland Middle School that came to the farm for a field trip on Friday.  We think they had a blast.  Our activities included a brief tour of the greenhouses, seeding their own micro greens, potting their own Spider plant and harvesting the Nagasaki purple turnips.  Thank you, Mr. Peterson, for sharing your students with us.  We hopefully passed on a bit of inspiration to eat healthy.....and may the student that wants to start his very own greenhouse for his Spider plant production be successful.

NOTE:  WE WILL BE OFFERING A 6 WEEK EXTENSION OF YOUR FARMSHARE.  IT WILL BE THE EARLY WINTER FARM SHARE ON THE COMPUTER, IF YOU ARE LOOKING. GIVES YOU AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE PLENTY OF PRODUCE AVAILABLE FOR THE HOLIDAYS.  WE WILL BE OFFERING LOTS OF ROOT CROPS, SQUASHES, GREENS, MEAT, HONEY, MAPLE SYRUP, FLOUR ETC.  THE EARLY WINTER FARM SHARE WILL START THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 7TH AND END THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 12TH.  GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT.  NOT SURE WHEN THE HARVEY SYSTEM WILL HAVE THE ENROLLMENT ACTIVATED.  WE WILL SEND OUT AN EMAIL UPDATE.
