What is the spring planting season?

Time for the harvest, customize your farm food!

I learned some new tricks in Harvie (our membership program/ farm box builder!) So there is pork and beef available to all members this week...

Pork Share members: We have ground beef available this week in our online selection. Make sure to customize your pork share (look in your account), and you can add ground beef to your meat assortment this week.

Veggie Box Share members: We have ground beef, pork country sausage, and a pork sampler available in our online selection.  Make sure to customize your veggie box (look in your account), and you can add any of these meat items in your farm food assortment this week.

Butterflies and green leaves mark the beginning of the edible endurance journey that is the growing season: March- November. William and plan for it in January and February with spreadsheets and calendars and really get going with work in April and May. This the spring planting season where you are reaching ahead of the bursting growth of the crops, weeds, and summer pests in the right weather and time windows. We're harvesting the lush spring veggies that you'll see this week in your kitchen, while we're planting and caring for baby sized summer crops like tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, cucumbers and preparing new planting areas every week. The livestock (hens, sows, hogs, and beef steers) get lush new pastures frequently depending on the dance of weather, grass, and the number and heaviness of hooves and claws. Every day we're thankful for the healthy and good animals, plants, water, air, and soil and the hard work of everyone on the farm.  The farm plans from our papers are put into the earth and later pulled out of the earth and enjoyed on the plate! Thank you for being a member, and for enjoying our food and supporting our farm with your meals!
