Farm Happenings for September 25, 2019

Posted on September 19th, 2019 by Lorien Carsey

Looks like we have some rain coming this weekend and into next week. It might be a nice change of pace not to have to run irrigation as much. We are digging more potatoes from our other field this week in the hopes of getting many out of the ground before the rains. We also are hoping to get as much of our winter squash harvested as well. We have been busy tearing out our greenhouse tomatoes, tilling, and planting spinach, kale, collard greens, and chard for our winter greenhouse production. Soon we will be preparing to plant garlic by popping all of our garlic heads into cloves.

This week we have added our sweet hakurei turnips and a little bit of broccoli to your CSA options and said goodbye to okra and basil.

Enjoy your week!
