Farm Happenings for October 7, 2020: Fall Shares Ready

Posted on October 1st, 2020 by Lorien Carsey

Here is Katie, whom some of you may recognize from the Champaign pickup site, showing off some of our green zebra, Aunt Ruby, and green tomatoes. We are getting a frost on Sunday night, but we are picking the toms for your order right now and keeping them in the cooler. This may be the last chance for toms this year, so if you were thinking of canning, roasting, or freezing, now is the time.

We added a Fall 2020 CSA share. The pickup is one location only: Saturday from 8am-noon at the Market In the Square at the Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana. The signup link is here: https://www.harvie.farm/signup/blue-moon-farm

The dates are Nov. 14, 21, then Dec. 5, 12, and 19th. We are skipping the week after Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We are offering a contact-free option same time/same place for a small fee. You will see the description at the sign up page.

For those of you who don’t want the full Fall season share, but want to be able to sign up week to week, we are doing Farmstand again. When you subscribe to the Farmstand, you will get an email each week in which you can buy a share and also customize the contents based on our inventory. The Farmstand signup link is here: https://www.harvie.farm/farm-stand/blue-moon-farm

We have limited shares for the fall as most of our fresh produce comes from our greenhouses, and our operation shrinks to about 1/4 our normal size. If the shares sell out before you get a chance to sign up, we are hoping for lots of extras, so please do subscribe to the Farmstand, and you may get all the produce you want anyway.
