Farm Happenings for September 17, 2019

Posted on September 13th, 2019 by Cathy Shepherd

Just a few quick announcements this week!

1) If you haven't already, please RSVP for the CSA Dinner on October 2nd. It will be a fun night with lots of family activities, plus HAYRIDES to the PUMPKIN PATCH!!!! Some of these pumpkins will outweigh your kiddos. I know they outweigh mine, but she is only about 15 pounds.

2) If you have any CSA boxes laying around you house from picking up your share, please return them, as well  as any of the green/blue pulp containers that we put the cherry tomatoes and other items in. We reuse those for as long as we possibly can.

3) Our WINTER CSA program is now organized and figured out. It is live on Harvie and you can sign up now!!! Space is limited for this CSA share because our growing space is limited. We have lots of fun stuff planned and even started as seedlings in our prop house, for the winter CSA. We are going to try a few new growing methods outside this winter, and will be seeding broccoli, cauliflower and cabbages every few weeks to keep them in supply al winter. I am still playing with the idea, but I think we will try to grow peas as well. Never have tried growing them in the greenhouses during the winter, but we will see how it goes!
