As you learned in elementary school science, plants need the sun to grow. Plants are actually amazing when you think about the fact that they take the energy from the sun to make their own food.
But, when the sun doesn't shine, the plants don't grow very well. Here is an example. We planted lettuce a few weeks ago and normally they should be close to ready for harvest. The weather always brings us challenges. It is part of farming.
If you wonder why you aren't getting lots of fall veggies and greens yet, this is the answer. We are doing what we can with what we have but more sun would definitely help.
