Microgreens are HERE + Stock up on Salmon

Posted on November 30th, 2022 by Suzanne Williams

Greetings, Farm Friends!

You will love these tender microgreens from our friends at Emanuel Farm in Laury's Station. You may have seen them in the past few weeks, but this week, we have a new variety for you to try. When you customize, be sure to add one of our three types of microgreens to your cart.

Radish Microgreens / Pea Microgreens / Super Greens Microgreens - a blend of broccoli, arugula, cabbage, kohlrabi, kale, and mustard greens

Feeling adventurous? Try something different this week:

  • Celeriac- the root of a particular celery variety can be eaten raw or cooked- try something new and different in your box this week!
  • Watermelon Radish- simply a beautiful veggie that gets its name from its color (not its taste)
  • Purple Cabbage- there are only a few, grab one while you can!

We are stocked up and ready for all your holiday salmon purchases from our friends at Wild for Salmon in Bloomsburg.

Looking for a few unique gifts this holiday season? Did you know...?

We have candles, handmade soaps, lotions, and jarred goods from other local farmers that might just make the perfect gifts for someone on your list. Browse around and see what you can find. Support local businesses this holiday!

We'll keep farming for you,

Reuben, Tessa, and the Farm Crew @ Willow Haven Farm

Important information for you:

VERY IMPORTANT: Check your preferences: your box will be automatically filled with the items YOU prefer.  You can always change items out, but sometimes our veggies, especially, are limited so it is best to have your box filled with your preferences on the first pass. You can change your preferences at anytime throughout the season.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT!! Customize: Once you receive this email, you can now customize your box.  Customize your box by swapping and/or adding additional items you like from our ever-growing selection of high quality organic foods and products.  You can swap or add in your Harvie account and your card will be charged upon finalization of your order. The customization window will open on Fridays and close at 7pm on Sunday.

Add another item to your cart:  Your market box is like your grocery budget for the week. Check to see if you have "more value" left in your box by going to customization - click on your cart - then click back to the items. If you have left over value in your share, try adding another low cost item to your cart.

What we need from you: RETURN BOXES...

If you are getting a box delivered: Please remember to put your box out before your next delivery so the driver can take it back to the farm to be reused. Before returning your box (and other packing materials) for pick up - please remove your box label. Why? It saves Farmer Reuben and the crew much time :)

However..... please do SAVE YOUR LABEL if you are missing an item or something is unsatisfactory, Farmer Reuben and the team really do want to know about it.  Sending us a picture of your label will help us diagnose our error in the pack line and make improvements. (You can discard your labels afterward.)

** Please return any waxed boxes, green cartons, freezer bricks, and reflective box liners at the time of your next delivery or pick up.

** If you have any questions about customizing your box, billing or your account, contact Harvie support. Any other questions, contact me! Read help doc How Swaps Work  and How Preferences Work help doc.

** Be sure to check out these FAQs to help you learn to navigate your Harvie profile and see how many options you have with your Subscription.

** Earn Farm Credit for signing up friends as members of our farm. Here's how to Refer A Friend! What are Farm Credits? Read How to Receive and Redeem Farm Credit.

**If you want ideas of how to prepare your veggies - join the Harvie Member Facebook Group. It's full of CSA Members who have lots of experience with uncommon CSA veggies. Just post a picture and ask "What do I do with these?" and you'll get a ton of comments and suggestions.
