Eight inches of rain + Duck Sale

Posted on August 28th, 2021 by Tessa DeMaster

Farm News: Maybe you remember that my mid-west raised mother keeps track of the rainfall for us and reports anything of interest. Well, starting last Thursday it was QUITE interesting! (continued below)

Why Customize? You MAY be able to add another item for free. It's worth checking. Harvesting: Ancho/Poblano Peppers, Roma & medium red tomatoes, Okra, Eggplant, Yellow Onions, Green Pepper and Colored Peppers, mixed hot peppers, Parsley, Garlic, Red Cabbage, Yellow & Red Potatoes.  ***Sometimes we have limited amounts of the first harvests. If you love something above and didn't get any this time, change your preferences to mark that veggie as a "5" and others as something lower. NEW: Ancho Peppers are often used for Chile Rellenos or dried they are called "poblanos." Roma tomatoes are often used for sauce and salsa as they are compact and meaty. Colored Peppers are ripened green peppers. Yellow Potatoes are a light, buttery variety which is great for baking and frying. Dragon Tongue beans are a fresh beans that can be used in any green bean recipe. Try this RECIPE.

Farm News continued: We woke up Friday morning with 3 inches in the rain gauge. It had rained HEAVILY all night long. She warned us that hurricane Henri was on its way to the east coast. Especially concerned, she wanted updates Sunday and Monday as our college girls headed back to New Hampshire for the start of the fall semester. They reported very heavy rain but safe arrivals.

Another 5 INCHES! was Henri's gift to us. Tuesday was a fun day of playing in the winter springs which overflowed all day with storm water.
