What's next? new veggies, cherries, pizza and flowers!

Posted on June 20th, 2020 by Tessa DeMaster

I know you'd love to know what we're going to harvest next. You've had a lot of greens and I know you are enjoying them but it's time to start to change with the seasons. Summer Squash/zucchini is being picked this week and will go in many of your boxes. In the next week or two the cucumbers, cabbage and broccoli will start. Lots to look forward to as we transition into summer this week.

Sweet Cherries are available in the EXTRAS this week because we were able to get a large order from a PA farm in Bigglerville. It's sad to see the strawberries go but it is the end of their season.  Cherries will be in the fruit shares this week.

SAVE THE DATES FOR FARM EVENTS: July 18 & July 25

Brick Oven Pizza Night on the outdoor deck overlooking the farm is a great opportunity to meet the farmer and see the farm. July 25 5 pm - 8 pm. Details coming soon.

Flower Tour on July 18 6 pm - 8pm. Meet Flower Farmer, Annika, tour the fields at sunset, ask all your questions and take home the bouquet of flowers you picked yourself. Details coming soon.

What about tomatoes? Pippin and I took a walk in the hoop house to see what we could find. Little tiny green tomatoes are just starting to grow. They are still weeks away from harvest. Don't expect to see tomatoes until late July. BUT they are healthy and growing and we can expect a great harvest in August and September.

Have a great week and enjoy your vegetables.

We'll keep farming for you!
