Padron peppers are not far away!

Posted on May 16th, 2021 by Lilly Emendy

Summer crops are sneaking into your shares this week, with Thai basil, dill bunches, and chard available. Just around the corner padron peppers, Italian basil, cherry sungold tomatoes, and green beans are growing fast!

Check out our cool new trellising system courtesy of our new cat tunnels in the South field by the parking lot. This system is called the “lower and lean” method and will allow our tomato plants to vine over 8’ long and stay away from soil borne disease, massively increasing their lifespan. Also, new on the farm, two recently completed Eagle Scout projects! Hand washing stations are now at each field, making sanitation and safety extremely convenient. And our bee area has been revitalized, donning 4 raised beds which will stay planted in pollinator friendly perennials, freshly painted hives and benches by the hive are ready for learners.

happy growing y’all!
