Trumpeter Swan Farm CSA News - Summer Season, Week 12, Delivery August 16th thru August 18th
---- Sweet Corn ----
Our first planting of sweet corn is just starting to come in. For this first week I want to make sure everybody gets some so it will be 4 ears per unit in the box. After that however it will be 6 ears per unit in the box. Like I said it is just starting and we have plenty more plantings after this one, so don't worry you'll get your fill by seasons end. It also helps that this year we got plenty of rain so the corn is looking a lot happier than it did last year.
---- Tomatoes ----
Cherry tomatoes are in full swing, so plenty to go around. Slicers and Romas are just starting this week. There will be a few to pick from on the list but don't worry give it 2 weeks and you will have plenty to pick from. Just like with corn the plants look really happy because of the rain we've been getting.
---- Week 12 ----
I know it's hard to think but we are only at week 12 of the summer season. It is always strange how we can be halfway thru August and still not be even close to the end of the harvest season. We finished up planting this last week and now our attention will turn to harvesting all the time. It's my favorite time of year because now we can truly reape the fruits of our labor. Hopefully there will be plenty of everything to go around and everybody will get their fill.
