Trumpeter Swan Farm CSA News - Summer Season, Week 9, Delivery July 26th thru July 28th
---- Main Season Crops ----
This week we started harvesting some of our main season crops: tomatoes, peppers, and beans. Tomatoes and peppers are slow going to start but, pick up speed rather quickly. Its early exciting to see the producing this early in the year. We also picked our first planting of green and yellow beans. We clear pick our beans when they are mature, because of this we have multiple plantings. We try to plant one planting each week so that we can harvest one planting each week. Exciting to see everything starting to come in finally.
---- Nearing the end of Planting ----
We are about 3 to 4 weeks out from being done with transplanting and seed planting. It's a long grueling haul from the middle of April to middle of August to get everything seeded and planted, but we are almost done. Nice thing is once planting concludes its just all about harvesting, personally my favorite time of year.
