Trumpeter Swan Farm CSA News - Winter Season, Week 48&49, Delivery May 3 thru May 5
---- Late Spring ----
Well unless you've been living under a rock, I am sure you've noticed how unseasonably cool it has been. We have had to delay our starting planting this year. But all hope is not lost. Last year we didn't actually start planting in full into the field until April 30th. We are currently just waiting for nice weather, which this week looks like such. Our greenhouse is full of plenty of transplants that are ready to go whenever it gets nice out.
---- High Tunnel ----
Last year we torn down our old smaller high tunnel. It had a clear plastic roof and could be heated so it was used mostly for early leafy green plantings. It was relocated to where are current two larger high tunnels are being built. With this last spring we have been able to work on more building project to keep busy. They won't be ready for spring but fingers crossed that they are ready by this fall. It would be nice to have some late season veggies and not have to reily soully on our small hydroponics set up.
