Trumpeter Swan Farm CSA News - Summer, Week 20, October 12 thru October 14

---- Last Week of Summer Deliveries ----

Well it is the last week of summer deliveries. That means for you folks who are continuing into winter you will be getting a box next week like normal. But if you are not continuing into winter you will not be getting a box next week, but we do ask that you place your empty box outside like normal because we will still pick up the empty. For you summer only folks I hope this was a pleasant experience for you and that it was worth while. This year was quite tough for us with the long drought and a labor shortage starting in August. We hope to see you again next year. For you folks continuing into the winter we will still have many fresh veggies available until early to mid November. But as winter starts to set in root crops and storage veggies (winter squash, cabbage, kohlrabi) will become more prevalent. Of course we will still have eggs available throughout the winter. If you are not signed up for winter CSA but want to do it, there is still time to sign up.

---- Radishes ----

We picked a lot of fall radishes on Saturday. Fall radishes are different from spring radishes because they are bigger, a tad sweeter, and don't contain as much of that radish bite/taste. THey keep very well so if you want to give them a try don't feel like you have to eat them right away.

Thanks,
Ian.
