Trumpeter Swan Farm CSA News - Off-Season, Week 21&22, Delivery October 19 thru October 21

---- Welcome to the Off-Season ----

Welcome to the first week of the off-season. Deliveries from here on out will be bi-weekly until June. Meaning that the next delivery after this one will be taking place November 2nd thru 4th. Other than that not much will change. Eggs may be in short supply for a tad due to just getting out of summer season, but the will hopefully rebound in the following deliveries.

---- Quail Eggs ----

This will be the last week of quail eggs because they have all gone into molt, they don't keep producing eggs. So if you want quail eggs or have been waiting to try them, get them while you still can.

---- Storage Veggies ----

In the off-season we don't like to automatically distribute storage veggies. The reason for this is that the Harvie system has a hard time with not having full production all the time and with us not being at full production November thru May, because it's Minnesota, we have to trick the system. That means that most times: winter squash, radishes, beets, sunchokes, cabbage, and kohlrabi, won't be distributed. They however will be in the swap area for you to pick up. We would just rather favor more perishable items like: lettuce, broccoli, brussels, kale, to move out first because they don't hold as long in the cooler and it helps make sure you get the freshest veggies possible.

Thanks,
Ian.
