----  Sunchokes  ----

We will feature Sunchokes (Jerusalem Artichokes) this time. A member of the sunflower family, with pretty flowers, and edible tuberous roots. Wash well, no need to peel, just break up lobes to get at any hidden dirt. Eat raw, cut up in a salad - like a carrot. Sweet and crunchy, mild taste. Or cook lightly in a stir fry as a substitute for water chestnuts. If you have never had them, give them a try!

----  Radishes  ----

We will also feature radishes. These are larger fall radish that remain tender even as they grow bigger. In addition to raw, can also cook radishes like you would turnips.

----  Fill your box, or not...  ----

Feel free to add other items to fill your box. Or if nothing appeals, no worries - you will get credit for unused space. Bread counts as $6, same as eggs or honey, or 2 produce items.

Thanks,
Phil.
