Trumpeter Swan Farm CSA News - Winter, Week 29&30, Dec 13

----  Festival Squash  ----

Festival Squash (the colorful yellow and orange striped squash) is our longest lasting squash. We will still have it for the next 2 deliveries. By January it is pretty much done. There are ways to store it longer (like until March), but we never have it that long. So if you like winter squash, be sure to pick extra. By the way, Festival is also the squash I prefer for making pumpkin pie - I think it tastes better than actual pumpkin. And use real molasses instead of brown sugar...

----  Sourdough Bread  ----

We will continue to offer Sourdough Bread from Diamond City. Plain sourdough, plus 2 flavored sourdough types will be offered. If you want to save a loaf for later, it freezes very well. You can also slice it, then freeze it, and just pull out a few slices at a time.

----  Fill your box, or not...  ----

Feel free to add other items to fill your box. Or if nothing appeals, no worries - you will get credit for unused space. Bread counts as $6, same as eggs or honey, or 2 produce items.

Thanks,
Phil.
