---- Garlic Scapes ----

Garlic Scapes are the unopened flowers of hardneck garlic. They can be chopped up and used as garlic flavor in cooking. But, BETTER YET, eat them like green beans. Cut into 2-3 inch pieces (exclude the flower blosson). Then steam them. Or, my FAVORITE, fry in pan with olive oil, adding a little balsamic vinegar at the end. Just like green beans with a hint of garlic!

---- Broccoli From the Field ----

We harvested our first broccoli from the field. Its coming out really nice. Next week there should be enough for anyone that wants some!

---- Thursday Rain ----

We really loved the rain on Thursday. Almost an inch. Its one of those years, where rain has been missing us, so it was very welcome. We got nothing on Saturday or Sunday, so we'd really be hurting without that rain.

Thanks,
Phil.
