Some of you wanted to know more about Boot and see some photos or video! The photo above is Boot this morning have his breakfast. As you can see comparing him to Rob's hand, he's not that big! His siblings are about 4 times his size by now. With runts like him, it's hard to know if he will grow and develop normally or survive to adulthood. But for now, he's hungry and happy! Kune Kune pigs are a haired pig from New Zealand. Their hair prevents them from getting sunburned, which is a problem for the standard industrial pigs. Right now, Boot's hair is relatively soft but once they reach adulthood, their hair is much coarser in texture. Rob has some cute video of Boot on his phone, which I will try to get on our Instagram and Facebook this weekend.

You will have noticed that I have started topping the carrots. This is mainly because once the days get cooler and the carrots mature, the tops become more brittle and ugly and the carrots are apt to fall off their tops. From this week on, you will notice that I am packaging carrots in larger quantities of 1kg. For reference, a bunch tends to be 550 - 700 grams of carrots. So keep this in mind when you are making your swaps and choices!

A quick reminder for those that took a week off earlier in the season and have not claimed their double share: you have 3 weeks to schedule your double! Any outstanding vacation shares from the summer season cannot be carried into the fall.
