In this picture you can see various colors of bell peppers- Did you know that bell pepper varieties turn colors as they ripen? Dark red is most ripe. Colored bell peppers are more expensive because as the fruit ripens they are more likely to have disease spots on them. It will take anywhere 3-4 weeks for a mature green pepper to turn dark red. All of these bell peppers are from the exact same variety in the same field. I was having the guys rank them from most pretty to least pretty. Ironically no 2 people ranked them exactly the same-
This past week was beautiful. Nice to have cooler weather. The crops grow at a crawl when its cool and cloudy though.
We will start increasing the amount of "storage crops" in your share- Potatoes, onions, winter squash. If you utilize the storage guides provided here- you can have some SHF crops to last you all winter!
