Week 5

Isn't this a great picture of the 2020 Sustainable Harvest Farm team? These guys are truly amazing. We're so fortunate to have them here. Carlos-(standing to my left) is the only international guy on my team that does not have a family of his own back home in Mexico. I could not imagine leaving my family for 6-7 months to work for some goofy farmer named Ford Waterstrat. Even with a college degree in engineering- Carlos is able to earn much more money in his 6-7 months here than he can in an entire year in Mexico.

There are several very important people on my team that you will rarely see pictures of or hear much about- but I wanted to give them a quick shout out. My Wife's cousin- "Uncle Jimmy" blesses us with his master of all trades skills on a daily basis. I literally don't think I'd be able to farm without him. You see- being a first generation farmer has required me to build a farm operation from scratch on a bootstrap budget. Jimmy is there to help me fix, build, fabricate, and track down the right parts for all of the miscellaneous pieces of old equipment and vehicles that it takes to keep SHF going.

I'd also like to highlight my dear friends and long time CSA members Jeff and Renee Fox. Jeff and Renee bless us with their marketing, communications, and promotion skills. Jeff and I spend a lot of time over the winter evaluating how we can make your partnership with SHF a truly delightful experience. You know all the great resources that we've been providing you with?

The strawberries are winding down- but tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers are right around the corner- Everything is tracking well as described in our Seasonal Offering Guide. It feels like its summer out there today, but July is the "Summer Season"
