We lucked out and got a little bit of much needed rain on Friday. Hopefully we will get more this coming weekend. Farm Happenings for May 26, 2021
The bees are out and about on all the summer fruiting plants. The summer squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and beans are all being visited by our honey bees! We are starting to harvest out our spring storage crops. We started with the purple kohlrabi on Friday and will be pulling daikon radishes, watermelon radishes, black radishes, purple top turnips, cabbages, and carrots this week. After another cycle of heavy rain followed by full sun, everything in the fields seems to have doubled in size. Tomatoes are finally trickling in. You'll get some cherry tomatoes in your share this week. We got all of our sweet potato slips planted along with most of the okra this weekend.
