Farm Happenings for February 6, 2019: Week 4 of 10!

Posted on February 1st, 2019 by Robinette Farms

Well we made it through the polar vortex and all the way through January! Pictured above is one of our many beds of spinach that looks perfect despite hours and hours of negative temperatures for a few days. Plants truly just want to grow and spinach is the definition of a winter green -- even in Nebraska it will often survive the winter out in an open field and be one of the first things to green up in spring -- amazing!

It's week 4 already and we are nearing the halfway point of the Winter CSA...wow! We hope you have been enjoying the winter season so far. We have been lucky that it's been full of greens, greens and more greens! Plus enough roots and cabbage for a good soup, ramen bowl, or roasted veggie plate. Any feedback you have for us about the Winter Share is always appreciated as we begin to hone our deep winter growing and storage skills.

Spring CSA registration will be happening at the end of the month so stay tuned for those details. I'm not anticipating that it will be too much larger than our current Winter season, so if you want in on the Spring CSA session for sure, send me an email and I'll get you on the short list.

Enjoy the blast of warmth this weekend before it cools down again!

See you next Wednesday,
Farmer Chloe
