Farm Happenings for July 1, 2022

Posted on June 30th, 2022 by Emma Rainwater

Hi Friends! Sorry this is coming at you a little late this week, I wanted to make sure we'd have enough CHERRIES to share! Fun fact about the farm - based on an old 1902 map we have of the area our farm used to be adjacent to a place called Cherry Hill farm and - no surprise - there's LOTS of old cherry trees in the woods bordering our fields. They're very old and very tall so hard to pick, but the sweet dark cherries are soooo nice when they're ripe.

We also have lots of great greens - our stir fry greens mix is going strong, we have lots of gorgeous kale and bok choi and fennel and I think we're about 1-2 weeks out from having new potatoes to share (some rain would be helpful here)! All of our summer nightshades (eggplant, tomato, peppers) are a little behind because of these back and forth temperatures we've been getting but they're getting bigger and starting to flower. I expect we'll have all of those before the end of july to share with you.

See you soon! Thanks for supporting our little family farm!!
