Hi friends!
This is the last share of August - where did the summer go?! We dug our potatoes yesterday and they're looking much better than last year's. We spent a lot of time picking potato beetles off the plants by hand early in the summer and I think it paid off fairly well!

Wow, it's somehow late August already, summer is flying by! No cucumbers or squash this week but we have plenty of cherry tomatoes, kale, eggplant, okra, basil, and other summer goodness.

Hi friends!! Cherry tomatoes are ripening at last - they were waiting for this sun and are bountiful and lovely. We have a new round of arugula that's looking GREAT and the heirloom tomatoes should be ready very soon.

About the farm
Rainwater Farms is run by Emma Rainwater & Naomi Salama with our daughter Norah. Emma fell in love with farming as community service while in Americorps. Naomi is fascinated with intentional ecology and stewardship of the land. We married at a farmer’s market in 2015, and started Rainwater Farms in 2017.
At Rainwater Farms we make use of sustainable practices, permaculture theory, and elbow grease to intensively manage 1.5 acres of vegetables, fruit trees, and a small flock of laying hens for eggs. We farm with intention and respect for the ecosystems our farm interacts with, both above and below ground.
