LAST week of Summer CSA Program!

Posted on September 12th, 2020 by Brianna van de Wijngaard

Happy Saturday, everyone! Sorry this is going out late....been a crazy week! But we are now into harvesting for the last of the summer CSA shares. I hope you liked most of the veggies you got this year, and thank you for your patience as we test ran our first year using Harvie, and had a few bumps along the way (but I'll be honest, there are ALWAYS some embarrassing bumps! :P) So thank you again, so so much! I will send a survey out shortly after the program has wrapped up, to get everyone's feedback. It's super important to me, so that we can make the CSA program better each year.

So this week, we will have...a little bit of everything! There is spaghetti squash on the list, and we're hoping to get some rainbow carrots and more potatoes from Silver Birch Farm on West Fraser Rd.

I went through some of the box totals from earlier in the season, when we didn't have as much volume to fill the shares, and compared it to weeks where I threw in some extra produce, and it balances out pretty good: the 1st 2 weeks we were below the target box value by a couple dollars, then we had weeks with extra produce (from the flood event!) and the one external order that we did where we also threw in some extra produce so that it wouldn't go to waste. So I am confident we evened them out. If you have any questions at all about this, please do let me know! Otherwise, you were only ever charged for what you received in your weekly shares.

Home deliveries will need to be a bit earlier again this coming week, as I have to do the farmers' market myself that day. So I would do deliveries between 10-12, then drop off at M&L, then pick ups at the farmers' market. Hope this is ok!

Thanks again, everyone. Let me know any questions, as always!
