Farm Happenings for July 31, 2022

Posted on July 28th, 2022 by Grayson Crane

Hi there CSA Members,

Well the heat is here. We've shifted our work schedule to reduce the amount of time we're out in it--luckily we've already completed much of the early/mid summer tasks. Compared to last year when we got that heat dome end of June, the timing is *much* better. We're still seeing some delays in crops due to the cold, wet spring and early summer. However, things are looking good for August. Get ready for lots of tasty roots, the debut of the tomatoes, and much more.

This week brings the first big harvest from our newest field. We put in another acre into production this year, to make some more room for fall/winter crops and better rotate the fields we have. Having a little more wiggle room will help us in future years as well, as it seems like our weather is becoming more and more unpredictable.

Thanks! Enjoy the veggies :)
