Farm Happenings for July 24, 2022

Posted on July 20th, 2022 by Grayson Crane

Hi Folks,

Well the heat is back. We finished up our fall/winter direct seeding this week, just in time for it to reach the 90s next week. Jeez. When it gets this hot, it means extra work with shade cloth and watering. Luckily we had a pretty intense dress rehearsal last year with the heat dome, and have the supplies we need to keep everyone has happy as they can be.

The good news about the heat is that its going to super charge some of our hot crops. The peppers are looking quite nice already--it took quite a bit of work to get them through the 40 degree nights we were getting into June. I know I'm excited to eat them. Last year our seedlings were mowed down by some hungry mice. Not this year mice.

See you at pick up!
