Farm Happenings for April 16, 2022

Posted on April 11th, 2022 by Jessica Linton

Helllloooo RVA!!!!! We are so excited to make our first delivery to the Richmond area this Saturday. Since it is my first time making this delivery route please bear with me if there are some wrinkles that need to be ironed out. I will leave the Valley in the morning and plan on going first to our pick up point in Scotts Addition at 3330 W Broad Street. Once I unload all the pick up orders I will head over to Charter Colony to make y'alls deliveries.

For our amazing Richmond customers. Your pick up window is between 11am and 3pm. You will go in the back alley entrance to the Highpoint. Look for the signs pointing to the River City Flower Exchange. You will walk through the first floor where they have awesome locally grown flowers for sale, many of them grown at Meadow Wood Farm, and head up the stairs to the meeting space. You will see stacks of green boxes with labels on them. Those are the farm shares! Find your box with your name, check and make sure everything inside is correct and then sign off on the sheet hanging by the boxes. Mark that you grabbed your box and everything looked good. If there are any problems with your order or you have a question, call me (Jessie) at 571-835-3957. I will still be around and chances are I can fix whatever needs fixing! After you get home and unpack your order, tuck the box, insulated liner, and cool pack away so that you can bring it to the next delivery. We reuse all packaging material so be sure to save it. If you forget to bring it the next delivery, text me to let me know it isn't lost and be sure to bring it the next time. We will charge accounts for any packaging material that isn't returned.

Charter Colony customers, your orders will be left on your doorstep. I will ring the doorbell but not stick around to chat with so many deliveries to make. Everything is packaged to stay frozen but be sure to bring orders in as soon as you can for maximum freshness. You also are responsible for saving the packaging material. The next delivery day, set it out on your doorstep and I will grab it when I am dropping off your new order. Same goes for any issues with your order, text me (Jessie) at 571-835-3957 so I can fix it while I am still in the area.

It is still really early in our growing season so we only have plant offerings. We will definitely have veg the next round of deliveries. We have had a surprisingly cold April so our veg starts are slow to take off. But we have amazing beef, chicken, pork, eggs, and bread to stock your fridges! We also are so excited to offer GORGEOUS hanging baskets, potted dahlias and gerbers, and tomato starts. If you want to get ahead of the curve in your veggie garden, these tomato plants are going to start putting on fruit within the next couple weeks. If you are looking to beautify your space with some spring color be sure to check out all the flowers we have this week.
