Farm Happenings for the week of June 15, 2021

Posted on June 10th, 2021 by Jessica Foote

Hello all,

I think we got all the glitches worked out this past week! Thanks for your patients and understanding, a few people seemed to have signed up twice forgetting they had auto renewed, or forgot to sign up at all and showed up for shares, and you know we forget pick up! It is always fun getting everything set up and organizing a new routine! I am glad we are all human and can make mistakes and be forgiven. Anyhow, if you are able to please send any assistance questions to Harvie support on the operational side of the site, and if they aren't back to you within 24hrs, then reach out directly to me and I can follow up! If it is a small item it is easier for them to deal with it, which frees up my time to be in the field! If you have any questions/complaints/ideas needed about the produce then get in touch with me! If I fail to answer immediately don't hesitate to send a reminder I sometimes miss emails unintentionally!

I loved seeing all the familiar and new faces at pick up and drop off, this farm has only been successful do to your continued support of the local food system. Together we make a difference to the environment, food security & sovereignty, nutrition, and our community, every action we make counts, and you all give me hope and inspiration.

Here at the farm we have been quite busy planting out the sweet potato slips! They arrived Monday & Wednesday and it will probably take a couple days to get them in the ground, but we will conquer the task. The strawberries are starting they will be outside of the share as I can never guarantee a volume, so that means they will magically appear in your box like a present this gives us the flexibility to place them in the shares we have the volume to fill as we harvest! Please return the clam shells!

Don't forget you can purchase meat and eggs at the drop off sites, and also place pre-orders if you like, check out our website lunargardens.ca for an idea of what might be available as the meat products are listed. First come first serve.

I am making the Honey & Maple syrup available in Harvie, as well as by outside orders!

The picture is Ranger one of the cute little Mini's that you can visit once we figure out the rest of the details for Jessalynn's Petting Zoo, at the moment I believe we will allow  CSA members from any drop off/pick day come on Tuesday's. Almost there on the details!

Have an amazing week!
