Farm Happenings for the week of April 18, 2020

Posted on April 13th, 2020 by Jessica Foote

Hello all,

I can't believe it is already week two of our spring share! Time is flying here at the farm. We are seeding, weeding, rock picking, and soon to be transplanting....And of course welcoming new babies into the world. It is certainly spring and life is a whirl wind!

I hope you all had an amazing Easter! I am giving thanks every day to my friends and family now more then ever! I am also really appreciating the reflection that times like these stir in the mind! You can't operate in autopilot when you are slammed in the face with new challenges and opportunities!

Questions that keep rolling around in my head are things like: What do I want our community to look like when this is all over? Could we put this much energy into climate change action? Just imagine? What do we really need? What is important? How are we going to make a difference? I am sure you are all going through this in some manner, shape, form? Who knows...

I know I am enjoying having lunches made by Jessalynn and integrating Jessalynn back into the farm life on a daily basis. It isn't easy but look what we are missing when our kids are in school! So much we can learn together! An amazing although challenging opportunity. What is the lesson I need to learn?

I will leave you with this quote as I am simply rambling through my thoughts at the moment!

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only things that ever has."

Margaret Mead

Cheers your farmer, Jess
