With the summer heat finally settling in, we've moved our start time back to 6 am. This cool time in the mornings is when we focus on harvesting the greens. Crops like lettuce and kale need to be cut before the sun warms the leaves, which in turn increases their respiration rate.

Farm-built Finger Weeder
The machine really helps us manage the weeks that grow between the plants in the row. The rubber fingers "brush" out the weeds without killing the crop we are cultivating. What an amazing tool!

About the farm
Celebrating 10 years of CSA in 2021, Lazy Eight Stock Farm is a small family farm located in Madison and Garrard County along the banks of the Paint Lick Creek.
We pour our hearts and souls into raising USDA Certified Organic vegetables for our CSA Members, the lifeblood of our farm. We offer a customizable CSA and host several on farm events each season for our members to come and share the seasonal bounty.
