Week 16 - Officially fall, but not cool at all.

Welcome to Week 16 of the CSA! Even though it's officially fall, you might be surprised that we're not reaching for even a light jacket or daydreaming about warm, pumpkin-spiced beverages just yet. It seems we'll need to wait a bit longer for that. However, there's an upside to this lingering warmth – aside from the ability to stylishly sport a kilt – our summer crops are getting some extra time to flourish and ripen.

In the coming week, we'll be harvesting a second round of the delectable Mini Love melons. The samples I've tasted from the field have been exceptionally sweet, which is another perk of hot days and cool nights. Additionally, we're introducing the first butternut squash of the season into your shares, creating a delightful summer/fall fusion on your menus.

Now that autumn has officially arrived, is it too early to start thinking about carving pumpkins? We have a fantastic selection of pumpkins in various sizes growing in our Gunbarrel field. Mark your calendars for October 21st, as we'll be hosting a Kilt Farm Members-only Pumpkin Patch event. Stay tuned for more details to come!

With gratitude,

The Farmers at Kilt Farm

Fruit Share

Once again, fall is here and it is time to reflect this in our fruit share. I am thrilled to announce it is apple season. I know you should save the best for last, but not this year. We will have Honey Crisp Apples in our fruit share this week. We are going to make it a trifecta with Apples, nectarines and plums.

We will have Nectarines, Bartlett Pears, Plums and Honey Crisp apples available in the add on section for those that do not have a fruit share.

Thank you so much for being a member of the farm. We can't do it with out you.
