Week 17 of the CSA and we are far from done!

Posted on September 20th, 2019 by Michael Moss

Holy cow, where has the season gone.

We find ourselves at week 17 of our 20 week CSA and it does feel like we were starting seeds just a little while ago. Our CSA ends the week of October 14th and it is our goal to fill your fridge and pantry with the flavors of fall.

This year we have harvested, packed and sent out to our community tonnes and tonnes of food. This is a thrill for me know that our food is having a positive impact on you and the broader community. On the horizon is still our red cabbage, cauliflowers, romanesco cauliflowers, more varieties of winter squash, cipollini onions, carrots, radicchio, potatoes, leeks, lettuce , arugula and braising mix. Yum, fall!

Fruit Share - This week we will have Golden Supreme Apples and Black Amber Plums for our fruit share. As always our fruit comes from Ela Family Farms in Hotchkiss.

Eggs - This week we have 16 dozen eggs available from the folks at Fair Farm

Honey - This year we partnered with Dean at Nimbus Rd Honey to have bees on our farm. The bees have thrived and have been a huge aspect of our success. It has been amazing sitting by the flowers this summer and watching the bees dance around sourcing their food. Even better we get the benefit of the their work from pollination of our veggies and enjoying a jar of honey.

This is single origin honey straight from our farm. This can be added as an extra to any share.

The Great Kilt Farm Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday October 12th we are setting up our pumpkin patch. We have grown some real beauties this year, so come out to the farm and pick your pumpkin. This is part of your csa share so come on out and grab a pumpkin.

Saturday October 12th - 10am - 3pm.

6001 Jay Rd, Boulder.

Thank you for being such a large part of our farm family!
