Week 18 and the fall crops are flowing.

Hello from a fall day at the farm. This morning I grabbed the crew for the the photo above to celebrate the Real Organic Project. We are now certified as a real organic farm. This really means that they way farm harkens back to the founding principles of organic agriculture which is growing food in healthy vibrant soil. We are proud of all of the work that goes into growing food this way.

So it does feel like fall now. We have cleared the fields of summer crops and are on our way to putting the farm to bed for the winter. This probably going to be the last time you see peppers in your share. We are moving more and more into our fall crops. I am excited about the new greens, radishes, turnips, cabbages and hopefully soon, cauliflower broccoli.

So this is week 18 of our CSA. Our final week will be the week of October 19th. Coming down to the end of the season is bittersweet for us as I imagine it may be for you also. We are all so happy that we have made it this far in a uniquely challenging year and we are excited to finish strong. In the last two weeks we will have nice big shares to fill your pantry and extra add ons so you can preserve or store to your hearts contact.

Mushrooms - This week we will have Piopino mushrooms in our exotic share and Black Trumpet mushrooms for the organic share.

Fruit Share -  This week we have more apples with the ever loved Honeycrisp and Bartlett Pears to round out your fruit share.

Add Ons - Yay, juicing carrots. We have some amazingly weird purple dragon carrots for your juicing and preserving pleasure. Plus we still have a few Anaheims and Italian Peppers for preserving. Make sure you check out the add ons page to start loading up your pantry.

Thanks for your continued support of the farm.
